Karen and Paul's Wedding...

Karen and Paul's wedding in Nova Scotia was a blessing. It was a blessing because it rained like crazy the day before and the day after, but nothing but blue skies (maybe one or two baby clouds) on the day of the wedding. It's unreal how fast the weather changes in Nova Scotia! Karen's sister Shauna said that she prayed long and hard and asked for a sunny day on her sisters wedding day and that's how we got the beautiful weather we did that day! I have to say that I believe her. Not to say that rain would have been bad because you can get a lot of beautiful shots in the rain, it just amazed me the changes that happen over one day!

Karen and Paul got married and had their engagement shoot at The Heritage Memory Lane in Nova Scotia. It's a 1940s/1950s set up with a general store, school house, mine shaft, old car garages, and church. They also had people of all ages from young to mature dressed up in 1940s clothing who would walk around at each station and talk to you a little bit about how things were done then. It was fun to walk around and see how life was like 70 years ago and get an appreciation for the simpler times.

Nova Scotia...

Beginning of September, I was off to shoot Karen and Paul's wedding in Nova Scotia. It was so exciting to go to the east coast because I had never been, and it was full of new firsts for me. Well, for starters all I knew about the place was that it's surrounded by water!
Ohhhh... well, that's not all entirely true. Shauna...Karen's sister who is a great friend of mine did tell me about the wonderful hospitality, and how I would have to have some east coast lobster. I just kept thinking how I couldn't wait to get there and how I couldn't say no to seafood!

Nova Scotia food was amazing and everything tasted so fresh! If you love seafood Nova Scotia is the place for you. I'm sure when you make an order at any restaurant, your waiter or waitress picks up their fishing rod and opens the back-door to catch it for you. Seriously, when it comes on your plate it's no tiny fish!

Lynn my good friend/assistant accompanied me for the week in Nova Scotia. I always love having an assistant with me! In all seriousness...It's weird talking to yourself, and explaining a trip is never the same unless you experience it for yourself. For instance, I tell everyone about Nova Scotia's tiniest squirrels on the plant and how they are overly friendly. They never hesitate to come right up to you or jump right into your car and scare the crap out of you! At first I thought they were chipmunks and I kept calling them that until Mr. Murphy informed me that they are their red provincial squirrels.

A Blooming Affair...

This past October 6th was The Blooming Affair Fashion Show! It's a great show with talented models and amazing people from around the community that come out to help a great cause. This show attracts over 900 people who contribute their time to make this show a huge success!

The fantastic thing about this show is that there is always a charity involved and a potion of the proceeds go to them. This year, the charity was the Waterloo Regional Downs Syndrome Society. Some of the members even came out and modeled in the shows!

This was my first year shooting for this event and I got to take the red carpet shots for everyone walking into the event. It was so nice to see how excited everyone was to come and see the show and be apart of the experience with their close family and friends.
